DL: Windlethorpe Dormitory (Fiebelkorn + Cakebread dorm)

Hello! The next legacy update should be soon but in the interim I wanted to offer a thing. It's not very exciting, but I personally hate building dorms, so maybe it will be helpful to others who feel similarly? This was the dorm used for the Fiebelkorns in gen 4, and will also be used for the Cakebreads in gen 3.

This is a 2x2 lot, which is properly zoned to be a dorm so long as it is in a University subhood. If you want to make any structural changes to this dorm, first enter the following command in the command prompt (CTRL + SHIFT + C):
boolProp dormSpecificToolsDisabled false
Because I use some object defaults for Maxis content, things might look a bit different in your game (mainly rugs, bedding and a couple paintings). I wouldn't really recommend using this lot without changing around the deco anyway but if you like it as is (for some?? reason??) and want to use the same object defaults, hit me up and I'll provide links.
The first/ground floor has 4 dorm rooms for playable sims, each with a double bed, a tiny bathroom containing only a toilet, a study desk with computer, a sink, and either an exercise bike or a mini-fridge, counter and microwave taking up the two tiles by the door.

Additionally, the ground floor contains a common study area with bookshelves and computers, a sound mixer for increasing fun/creativity, and both an elevator and set of curvy stairs for reaching the second floor.

There are also two bathrooms, which contain a total of 4 toilets, 4 showers and 2 sinks. The showers are separated by a floor divider so that sims will be able to use them without freaking out about the other sims using the nearby sinks or toilet stalls. If you have ever lived on campus, you know this hellish lack of personal space/hygiene is 100% factual.

The second floor has 8 dorm "rooms" for townies to occupy, each containing only a single bed, a window and a couple lights, since they don't need much more than that.

The upstairs lounge has a TV, chessboard, pottery wheel, plus the career rewards bookshelf and drawing desk.

The kitchen contains the stove necessary to prompt a cook to show up on the lot. Plus a fridge, counters, fire extinguisher, public phone and seating for 3. There is supposed to be a dishwasher and sink, too, but I apparently forgot those when rebuilding this lot. Oops. \o/

Further seating is available out on the deck, making it possible for 6 more sims to eat at the same time.
The upstairs bathrooms contain 2 additional sinks, 4 toilets and 7 communal showers. Which maybe sounds like a lot, but we all know how gross dormies can be.
To see what this lot looks like when it's full of custom content check out the pictures in this post, and also in the entry proper for the gen 4 Fiebelkorns at college.
Strongly recommended CC (not required by the lot file, but required for life):
Hook's Lighting Files. For easily and permanently altering the direction of the sun/shadows on a lot. Reuploaded with updated install instructions. (Original MATY post.)
These files are NOT compatible with GunMod's radiance lighting or other custom lighting files. But if you use the default Maxis lighting like me, they are incredibly useful. Especially if, like me, you often forget to build your lots properly facing the sunlight, and end up with unsightly shadows in the front of your lot. Or if you just want to change the direction of the sunlight on the fly from within the lot, to make an otherwise shadowy backyard brighter for a specific screencap.
SilentLucidity's Walkthrough Blocks @ MTS.
I have not used the walkaround blocks included in that download, but the walkthrough blocks are an essential mod for my game, making it possible for me to build 2 tile half bathrooms, and 3.5 tile full bathrooms. In general, if you want to maximize your space and don't mind a little bit of clipping here and there, walkthrough blocks are what you need. They are only usable under single-tile items, so unfortunately you won't be able to put a couch or bed on a walkthrough block, but they can easily be utilized on surrounding one-tile items.
DOT's Screenie and Movie Ceiling Light @ TSR.
I use this in basically every lot I build instead of the default ceiling lights, since it's quite bright and doesn't get in the way of top-down pictures the way Maxis lights do. I know that totally invisible ceiling lights exist, but I prefer that this one does have something that you can grab and move/delete as needed.
HugeLunatic's Rug Fix @ MTS.
For placing default rugs diagonally, or off the grid without weird shading issues.
Additionally, if you want the blue desert terrain shown in the pictures, you can get it here.
Anyway enjoy! Sorry it's not furnished with CC, but sharing decorated lots is probably the actual worst. If there is a specific piece of CC in the furnished Fiebelkorn version that you want, feel free to WCIF it on the post in question.
